Cisco Catalyst CW9166 access points (CW9166I) are tri-band Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax) indoor access points that can be managed either by Cisco Catalyst 9800 wireless controllers or in the Cisco Meraki cloud dashboard. Which version do I need?
- CW9166I-MR: the Meraki cloud-managed version, for networks run from the Meraki dashboard. Sold unclaimed, so you can claim it into your own Meraki organization.
- CW9166I-B: for Cisco Catalyst 9800 controller networks. The "-B" suffix is the US (FCC) regulatory domain.

The CW9166 is a current Cisco product, still sold and supported by Cisco as of September 2026.
