The Juniper EX4400 is a cloud-ready, stackable enterprise access switch that runs Junos OS and can be managed by Juniper Mist AI. It is the successor to the EX4300, adding 25 and 100 Gigabit uplinks, multigigabit ports and 90W PoE++ for Wi-Fi 6/6E/7 access points. Which version do I need?

Choose the 24T or 48T for standard wired access, the 48P for PoE phones, cameras and access points, and the 48MP where Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7 access points need more than 1 Gigabit per port. The 48F is the fiber aggregation model. Every EX4400 has one expansion slot, so add an EM-4Y for 25GbE uplinks or an EM-4S for 10GbE. PoE models need the 1600W power supply; non-PoE models use the 550W.

Airflow is shown in the part number. AFO is front-to-back, the standard for most racks. AFI is back-to-front. Match the switch, power supplies and fans to the same airflow.

What is the difference between the EX4300 and the EX4400?
The EX4400 is the newer platform. It adds 25GbE and 100GbE uplinks, multigigabit and 90W PoE++ options, and native Juniper Mist cloud management. The EX4300 remains a low-cost choice for 1GbE access.

Can EX4400 switches be stacked?
Yes. EX4400 switches form a Virtual Chassis over the rear 100GbE ports, so several switches are managed as one.

Do I need Juniper Mist to use an EX4400?
No. It runs Junos OS and can be configured from the command line or Junos Space, as well as from Mist.
