The Fortinet FAP-421E-A is an indoor dual-radio wireless access point manufactured by Fortinet. It features a 4x4 MU-MIMO design and supports IEEE 802.11ac Wave 2 (Wi-Fi 5) with transmission speeds up to 1.733 Gbps on the 5 GHz band and up to 800 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band.
This model includes two Ethernet ports — one Gigabit LAN and one PoE-compatible for power delivery, reducing cable requirements during installation. Compatible with FortiGate controllers via CAPWAP tunnel mode, it integrates into existing managed wireless deployments using centralized control policies. The unit uses ceiling or wall-mounting brackets depending on placement preferences in standard indoor installations where discrete deployment may be required.
