The Cisco Meraki MR36H-HW is a Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) wall-plate access point that mounts over a wall box inside the room, managed from the Meraki cloud dashboard. It is built for hotel rooms, dormitories, apartments, senior living, and clinic rooms, where each room needs its own Wi-Fi and a few wired ports for a TV, phone, or set-top box.
It runs 2x2:2 on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, for up to 1.5 Gbps combined radio rate, plus a dedicated radio that scans full-time for security threats and RF interference, and a Bluetooth Low Energy radio. It has a Gigabit uplink, three managed Gigabit ports for in-room devices (one with 802.3af PoE output), and an unmanaged passthrough port.
Power it with 802.3at PoE+ to turn on the PoE output. On standard 802.3af PoE, it runs in low-power mode: Wi-Fi and the wired ports keep working, but the PoE output port stops supplying power. It ships with its wall mount and is sold unclaimed, so you can claim it into your own Meraki organization. A Meraki license is required and is sold separately. Covered by our 365-day warranty.
