The Cisco WS-C3850-48F-L is a 48-port Gigabit full PoE+ switch from the Catalyst 3850 Series. It provides 48 Gigabit RJ45 ports, all able to draw full PoE+ power at the same time, and with the included 1100 W power supply the switch delivers an 800 W PoE budget. It runs the LAN Base version, aimed at Layer 2 access switching.
The switch delivers 176 Gbps of switching capacity and a 130.95 Mpps forwarding rate, with 4 GB of DRAM and 2 GB of flash. Up to nine Catalyst 3850 switches can join one StackWise-480 stack with 480 Gbps of stack bandwidth, managed as a single switch, and StackPower lets stacked switches share their power supplies. The 1RU chassis ships with rack mount brackets and three FAN-T1 fan modules, and uplinks come from an optional network module in the front slot, which is not included.
For uplinks, the Cisco C3850-NM-2-10G module adds two 10 Gigabit SFP+ ports and the Cisco C3850-NM-4-10G module adds four 10 Gigabit SFP+ ports. A second Cisco PWR-C1-1100WAC power supply gives redundancy and more PoE headroom, and the NEW Cisco STACK-T1-50CM cable joins it to a stack.
