The series pairs a 3x3 802.11ac radio on 5 GHz with a 3x3 802.11n radio on 2.4 GHz and comes in external-antenna and internal-antenna versions. The product on this page is the IAP-214, the Instant version with external antenna connectors, which runs as a controllerless cluster out of the box and can be converted to a campus AP under an Aruba Mobility Controller. NetworkTigers sells Aruba 210 Series access points refurbished, used and new, and every unit is tested before it ships so it works when it arrives.

Aruba 210 Series models on this page

Model or part

Used for

Shop

IAP-214

Instant AP, external antenna connectors, for directional or specialty antennas in warehouses, long corridors and open halls

IAP-214

JW223A

Ordering code for the IAP-214 in the US regulatory domain, shipped new in the box

JW223A

Related Aruba

Other Aruba access point families, from the 205H wall-plate AP to the full Wi-Fi 5 range

205H | 220 Series | All Aruba Wi-Fi 5 | All Aruba APs

Which Aruba 210 do I need?

Start with the antenna. The IAP-214 has external RP-SMA connectors and no antennas in the box, so plan on buying antennas to suit the space: omnidirectional for a general-purpose ceiling mount, directional or patch for aisles, atriums and outdoor-facing walls. If you want a plain ceiling AP with built-in antennas, look at the internal-antenna version of the series instead. Next, check the regulatory domain: a US-domain unit such as JW223A is set for the United States and will not join a cluster or controller configured for another country code. Then check management. Instant APs form their own virtual controller, so you need nothing else to run a small site; if you already run ArubaOS on a Mobility Controller, the IAP-214 can be converted to a campus AP. No Aruba Central subscription is included with the hardware. Finally, confirm your switch supplies PoE on the port and that you have the right mount for the ceiling or wall.

Frequently asked questions

Can an IAP-214 mix with newer Aruba Instant APs in one cluster?
Only when every AP in the cluster runs the same Aruba Instant release, and the newest APs often need a release the 210 Series does not run.
