The Cisco Meraki MR53E-HW is the external-antenna version of the MR53, a Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac Wave 2) access point managed from the Meraki cloud dashboard. Choose it for high-ceiling or oddly shaped spaces, such as warehouses, arenas, and auditoriums, where you need to aim 4x4 coverage with the right antenna.

It runs 4x4 MU-MIMO on both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, for up to 2.5 Gbps combined radio rate, plus a dedicated scanning radio and a Bluetooth Low Energy radio. It has six antenna ports and works with the Meraki MA-ANT-3 six-port antennas (A6, C6, D6, E6 and F6); connect all six. It has one 2.5 Gbps multigigabit port and one Gigabit port (RJ45), and needs 802.3at PoE+ for full performance.

Antennas are sold separately unless the listing says otherwise. Cisco lists July 21, 2026, as the end of support. The MR53E can still be claimed and runs in the Meraki dashboard, and we test every unit to confirm it. Sold unclaimed. A Meraki license is required and is sold separately.
