Cisco Catalyst 9117 access points (C9117AXI) are Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) indoor access points with internal antennas, built for busy offices, schools and campuses. NetworkTigers sells them refurbished, used and new, tested by our technicians and backed by a 365-day warranty.

- Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax): 8x8:8 on 5 GHz and 4x4:4 on 2.4 GHz
- Up to 5 Gbps PHY rate on 5 GHz
- Multigigabit uplink up to 5 Gbps on Cat 5e cabling
- Power: 802.3at PoE+ or Cisco UPOE for full features; runs on 802.3af PoE with reduced (2x2) radios
- Internal omnidirectional antennas
Which version do I need?
- C9117AXI-B: controller-based. Works with Cisco Catalyst 9800 wireless controllers and with Cisco 3504, 5520 and 8540 controllers.
- C9117AXI-EWC-B: includes Cisco's Embedded Wireless Controller, so one access point can manage the others without a separate controller.
The "-B" suffix is the US (FCC) regulatory domain.
Cisco support status
Cisco ended sales of the 9117 in April 2021 and ended support on April 30, 2026, so it no longer provides software updates or TAC support. It remains a practical choice for expanding or keeping spares for an existing 9117 or Catalyst 9800 network. For new deployments, see our Catalyst 9120, 9130, and 9136 access points.
