The HPE FlexFabric 5945 is a family of top-of-rack data center switches for 25 and 100 Gigabit networks: a 48-port 25GbE access switch, a 32-port 100GbE spine switch, and 2-slot and 4-slot modular switches. It runs HPE Comware 7 with cut-through switching, under 1 microsecond latency, VXLAN with EVPN, MPLS and IRF stacking. Power supplies and fan trays

Power supplies and fan trays are sold separately, so you can choose AC or DC power and the airflow that matches your rack. A listing that names an airflow direction is a configured switch and states what is installed; otherwise it is the switch only.

Which version do I need?

Choose the JQ074A for 25 Gigabit server racks with 100 Gigabit uplinks, and the JQ077A for 100 Gigabit spine or aggregation. Choose the JQ075A (2 slots, 1U) or JQ076A (4 slots, 2U) to mix 10, 25, 40 and 100 Gigabit ports, add MACsec, or connect Fibre Channel storage. For 10 Gigabit servers, see the FlexFabric 5940.

Stacking and upgrades

HPE IRF combines up to 10 FlexFabric 5945 switches so they are managed as one. The 5945 supports IRF-based ISSU (in-service software upgrade); whether a given upgrade is hitless depends on the software release, so check HPE's release notes first.
