Cisco Routers - Refurbished, Used, New

Cisco router families by role

Which Cisco router do I need?

Start with the role. A single office needs a branch router; a head office or data center that terminates many site links needs a WAN aggregation router; service providers use the metro and core platforms. Then match interfaces and capacity: the number and speed of WAN and LAN ports, the interface modules you need, power supplies, and the throughput your sites require. Check the listing for which modules and power supplies are installed. The Catalyst 8200 and 8300 are Cisco's newer branch platforms alongside the ISR 4000; the ISR 4000 remains widely installed and is easy to match for spares and expansion.
