Which version do I need?

Choose the SN2010 or SN2100 for a small storage or hyperconverged cluster, since two half-width switches give a redundant pair in one rack unit. Choose the SN2410 or SN3420 for 25GbE server racks, the SN2700 for a 100GbE spine, and the SN3700, SN4600 or SN4700 for 200GbE and 400GbE fabrics and AI clusters.

The part number tells you the rest. P2C (back-to-front) or C2P (front-to-back) is the airflow; match it to your rack's hot and cold aisles. Onyx, Cumulus or ONIE in the title is the operating system the switch ships with; ONIE means the switch is ready to load any compatible OS.

Frequently asked questions

Is Mellanox the same as NVIDIA?
Yes. NVIDIA acquired Mellanox in 2020, and Spectrum switches are sold under both names with the same part numbers.

What is the difference between SN2000, SN3000 and SN4000 switches?
They are three generations of Spectrum silicon. SN2000 models top out at 100GbE, SN3000 models at 200GbE, and SN4000 models at 400GbE.

Can I change the operating system?
Spectrum switches run Onyx, Cumulus Linux or SONiC. Tell us which one you need when you order and we will confirm what the unit ships with.
