Which QFX5100 do I need?

Pick the model by server connection: SFP+ fiber or DAC (48S or 96S), 10GBASE-T copper (48T), or 40 GbE (24Q). Then check the airflow stated in the listing; in the part number, AFO is front-to-back and AFI is back-to-front, and the switch, its fans and its power supplies should all match. Check whether the switch is AC or DC powered, which power supplies and fans are installed, and, on the 24Q, which expansion modules it has. If the switch will join an existing Virtual Chassis or fabric, give us your current part numbers and Junos release and we will confirm the match.

Do the 40 GbE ports support breakout?
Many QFX5100 QSFP+ ports can be split into four 10 GbE ports with a breakout cable, but which ports support it depends on the model and configuration. Check the model's port details before planning a breakout design.
