Which 9600 parts do I need?

Start with your chassis and supervisor, and check that the supervisor and IOS XE release support every line card you plan to use. Choose line cards by port type: SFP28 for 1 to 25 GbE fiber, QSFP for 40 and 100 GbE, or 10GBASE-T copper. Line card port speeds depend on the supervisor: with SUP-1 the C9600-LC-24C runs 24x 40 GbE or 12x 100 GbE, and with SUP-2 it supports 24x 100 GbE, so plan the port mix for your supervisor. Size the power supplies to the cards installed and allow for redundancy, and fill empty supply bays with blanks. Give us your chassis, supervisor and card part numbers and we will confirm the combination.

Can I use Catalyst 9400 line cards in a 9600?
No. The Catalyst 9600 uses its own C9600 line cards and supervisors, which are different parts from the C9400 versions.
