The Cisco Meraki MA-ANT-23 is a 2.4 GHz sector antenna for Meraki outdoor access points with N-type antenna connectors. It covers 2.400 to 2.500 GHz with 11 dBi of gain and a 70-degree horizontal beamwidth, and connects through two N-type ports with two 12-inch N cables included.
A sector antenna concentrates signal into a wedge in front of it, so one access point can reach clients further away in that direction than an omni antenna can. It suits long building faces, sports fields, and parking areas covered from a single mounting point. The antenna measures 9.2 x 5.5 x 1.6 inches and weighs 1.2 lb.
The MA-ANT-23 covers only the 2.4 GHz band, so it is normally paired with the 5 GHz MA-ANT-21 sector antenna on the same access point. Meraki lists it for the MR62, MR66, MR72, MR74, MR76, and MR86. Outdoor Meraki access points such as the MR74, MR76, and MR86 use N-type antenna connectors, and each external antenna connects to the matching radio port on the AP. Plan cable runs short, since longer coax adds loss that cancels some of the antenna gain.
For the 5 GHz radio, see the MA-ANT-21 5 GHz sector antenna. If you want one antenna for both bands, the MA-ANT-27 dual-band sector antenna covers 2.4 and 5 GHz.
