NEW Cisco Meraki MA-CBL-TA-3M 3m 10GB SFP+ Direct Attach Copper Cable

The Cisco Meraki MA-CBL-TA-3M is a 3-meter 10 Gigabit SFP+ twinax direct attach cable. It has an SFP+ connector molded onto each end, so it replaces two optics and a fiber patch for short links, such as switch to server, switch to security appliance, or switch to switch in the same or the next rack.

Direct attach cables cost less and use less power than a pair of transceivers, and there is nothing to clean or align. The trade-off is reach: the cable runs only its fixed length, and the 3m version suits devices a few racks apart or at opposite ends of a tall rack.

Meraki lists the cable for the MS125, MS225, MS250, MS350, MS355, MS410, and MS425 switches, and for the MX95, MX105, MX250, and MX450 security appliances. Use it between SFP+ ports on Meraki gear; third-party equipment at the other end should accept a passive copper DAC.
