NEW Cisco MA-INJ-5-US Meraki MR86 Series PoE Wireless Access Point Injector

The Cisco Meraki MA-INJ-5-US is a multigigabit 802.3at PoE+ injector with a US plug. It delivers up to 30W at 55V DC over the Ethernet cable to one powered device, and it is backward compatible with 802.3af devices. Data passes through at 10, 100, or 1000 Mbps or at multigigabit speeds up to 10 Gbps.

The multigigabit pass-through is the reason to choose it over a Gigabit injector. Access points with 2.5G or 5G uplinks keep their full link speed through it, so a newer AP on a switch without PoE does not drop to 1 Gbps. The powered device can be up to 100 meters from the injector.

Input is 100 to 240 VAC at 50 to 60 Hz, 1.5A maximum. The injector measures 6.53 x 3.46 x 1.68 inches, weighs 0.91 lb, has short-circuit protection, and operates from 14 to 113 degrees F. Wall-mount screws and anchors are not included. Devices that need 802.3bt for full function run at their 802.3at level on this injector.

For Gigabit-only devices, the MA-INJ-4-US PoE+ injector is the alternative. Devices it powers include the MR86-HW outdoor access point and the MV72-HW outdoor camera.
