The Cisco Meraki MX64W-HW is a desktop security and SD-WAN appliance with built-in Wi-Fi, managed from the Meraki Dashboard. It has five Gigabit RJ-45 ports: one dedicated WAN port, three dedicated LAN ports, and one port that can be set as LAN or as a second WAN uplink. A USB port takes a third-party cellular modem for failover.
Meraki rates it at 250 Mbps stateful firewall throughput and 70 Mbps maximum VPN throughput, with up to 50 concurrent site-to-site or client VPN tunnels. The dual-band 802.11ac radio has a maximum data rate of 1.2 Gbps and uses two external dipole antennas.
Power comes from an external 30W adapter, and the appliance draws 6W idle and 13W at full load. It measures 9.5 x 5.2 x 1 inches, weighs 1.61 lb, and sits on a desk or mounts on a wall. Meraki sizes it for a small office of up to 50 devices. The appliance is sold unclaimed; a Meraki license is required, purchased separately.
