The Cisco N9K-C9316D-GX is a 1RU Nexus 9300-GX switch with 16x 400GB QSFP-DD ports. Cisco positions it as a compact spine, and it supports ACI spine, ACI leaf, and NX-OS modes, which makes it a small-footprint way to bring 400GB into a data center fabric.
Every port supports breakout to 2x 200GB, 4x 100GB, 8x 50GB, 4x 25GB, or 4x 10GB, and the ports also run natively at 100GB and 40GB, with 10GB through an adapter. Cisco lists 12.8 Tbps of switching capacity, over 4.3 Bpps, an 80MB buffer, a 4-core CPU, 32GB of DRAM, a 128GB SSD, and a 512,000-entry MAC table. Power draw is 420W typical and 1010W maximum.
It takes two hot-swap 1100W AC, DC, or HVAC/HVDC power supplies in a 1+1 arrangement and six hot-swap fans in a 5+1 arrangement, with port-side intake and port-side exhaust versions of each. Cisco lists the NXK-ACC-KIT-1RU rack kit for this model.
