Cisco WS-C3850-12X48UW-S 48x (12x MultiGB) UPoE RJ45 1x Slot Switch 5x APL

The Cisco WS-C3850-12X48UW-S is a 48-port UPoE switch from the Catalyst 3850 Series with an integrated wireless controller that can manage Cisco access points directly from the switch. It provides 12 multigigabit RJ45 ports (100 Mbps to 10 Gbps) and 36 Gigabit ports, all with UPoE, and with the included 1100 W power supply the switch delivers a 630 W PoE budget. It runs the IP Base version, covering Layer 2 switching plus basic Layer 3 routing.

The switch delivers 472 Gbps of switching capacity and a 460 Mpps forwarding rate, with 4 GB of DRAM and 2 GB of flash. Up to nine Catalyst 3850 switches can join one StackWise-480 stack with 480 Gbps of stack bandwidth, managed as a single switch, and StackPower lets stacked switches share their power supplies. The 1RU chassis ships with rack mount brackets and three FAN-T1 fan modules, and uplinks come from an optional network module in the front slot, which is not included.

For uplinks, the Cisco C3850-NM-8-10G module adds eight 10 Gigabit SFP+ ports and the Cisco C3850-NM-2-40G module adds two 40 Gigabit QSFP+ ports. A second Cisco PWR-C1-1100WAC power supply gives redundancy and more PoE headroom, and the NEW Cisco STACK-T1-50CM cable joins it to a stack. If you don't need the wireless controller, the standard Cisco WS-C3850-12X48U-S is the same switch without it.
