Cisco GLC-BX-U 1000BASE-BX10-U is a small form-factor pluggable (SFP) transceiver module manufactured by Cisco. It supports 1000 Mbps (1 Gbps) bidirectional data transmission over a single strand of single-mode fiber using an LC connector.

This SFP operates with a wavelength of 1310 nm for transmission and requires a 1490 nm receive wavelength, supporting distances up to 10 km using standard single-mode fiber. It includes Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM) capabilities for real-time diagnostics. Compatible with a range of Cisco switches and routers supporting SFP ports, the GLC-BX-U module is typically used in pairs with the GLC-BX-D for bidirectional communication. It uses standard power from the hosting device and inserts into a standard SFP port without requiring special mounting or external power.
