It transmits at 850nm over multimode fiber with a duplex LC connector. Reach depends on the fiber grade: 26 meters on OM1, 82 meters on OM2, 300 meters on OM3, and 400 meters on OM4. Older OM1 and OM2 fiber limits a link to 82 meters or less, so check the fiber grade before planning a long run.

Meraki lists the MA-SFP-10GB-SR for the MX95, MX105, MX250, MX400, MX450, and MX600 and for the MS125, MS130-X, MS225, MS250, MS350, MS355, MS390, MS410, and MS425 switch families. It is the standard optic for 10 Gigabit uplinks inside one building, from closet to core or between switches in a data room. Both ends of the link must use 10GBASE-SR optics.
