NEW Cisco Meraki MA-SFP-1GB-SX 1GB BASE-SX 850nm MMF Transceiver SFP

The Cisco Meraki MA-SFP-1GB-SX is a 1000BASE-SX SFP optic for Gigabit links over multimode fiber. It transmits at 850nm and reaches 220 meters on OM1, 550 meters on OM2 and OM3, and up to 1 kilometer on OM4 fiber, with a duplex LC connector.

Meraki lists it for the MS120, MS125, MS130, MS210, MS225, MS250, MS350, MS355, MS390, MS410, and MS425 switch families and for the MX75, MX84, MX85, MX95, MX100, MX105, MX250, MX400, MX450, and MX600 security appliances.

Short-reach multimode is the usual choice inside one building: from a closet switch to the core, between floors, or from a firewall to a fiber handoff in the same room. Both ends of a link must use the same standard, so pair it with another 1000BASE-SX optic on matching multimode cable. Check the fiber grade printed on the cable jacket before ordering, since reach drops sharply on older OM1 fiber.
