This listing covers the MA-SFP-1GB-LX10, a 1000BASE-LX10 SFP optic for Gigabit links on Meraki switches and security appliances. Depending on the SKU, the unit is a Meraki-branded optic or a third-party optic coded for Meraki; the SKU title and photos show which.

It transmits at 1310nm and reaches 10 kilometers over single-mode OS1 or OS2 fiber with a duplex LC connector. With an LC mode-conditioning patch cable it can also run up to 550 meters over multimode fiber, which helps where a building has older multimode runs. Check the existing cable first, since single-mode and multimode fiber are not interchangeable without that patch cable.

Meraki lists the MA-SFP-1GB-LX10 for the MS120, MS125, MS130, MS210, MS225, MS250, MS350, MS355, MS390, MS410, and MS425 switch families and for the MX75 through MX600 security appliances. Typical uses are links between buildings on a campus, to a remote closet, or to a carrier single-mode handoff. Both ends of the link must use 1000BASE-LX10 optics.
