The NEW Cisco Catalyst C9300-48S-E is a 1U rack-mount switch in Cisco's Catalyst 9300 modular-uplink series, measuring 1.73 in (4.39 cm) high and 17.3 in (44.0 cm) wide. It provides 48 1G SFP ports for fiber or copper SFP transceivers, along with one expansion module slot supporting 10G, 25G, or 40G uplink modules.
Switching capacity is 256 Gbps, rising to 736 Gbps when stacked, with a forwarding rate of 190.47 Mpps (547.62 Mpps stacked). This model does not support Power over Ethernet and suits fiber-fed access or aggregation roles where copper reach or electrical isolation is a concern. The switch stacks with other Catalyst 9300 modular-uplink units over StackWise-480 cabling, and up to eight switches can join a single stack. It maintains a MAC address table of 32,000 entries and mounts in a standard 19-inch rack.
