NEW Cisco Meraki MA-INJ-4-US 802.3at PoE+ Injector 30W US Plug

The Cisco Meraki MA-INJ-4-US is an 802.3at PoE+ injector with a US plug. It delivers up to 30W over the Ethernet cable to one powered device and is backward compatible with 802.3af devices. Data passes through at 10, 100, or 1000 Mbps, so it does not slow a Gigabit link.

Input is 100 to 240 VAC at 50 to 60 Hz and 0.8A. The injector measures 6.3 x 2.1 x 1.4 inches and weighs 0.5 lb. It sits between a non-PoE switch port and the device: one cable from the switch into the data port, and one cable from the PoE port out to the access point, camera, or phone.

Meraki offers it for its 802.3af and 802.3at access points, and the MR86 data sheet lists it as that AP's injector. An injector is the simple fix when a switch has no PoE, when its PoE budget is used up, or when one AP needs to be placed where the closet cannot power it. Regional versions exist with EU, UK, and AU plugs.

Access points this injector powers include the MR44-HW Wi-Fi 6 access point and the MR56-HW. For many devices in one closet, a PoE switch such as the C9300-48P-M is usually the better fit.
