The Cisco Meraki MR42-HW is a Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac Wave 2) indoor access point managed from the Meraki cloud dashboard, built for busy offices, schools, and hospitals where most clients connect on 5 GHz. It is a proven, low-cost workhorse for filling out or extending an existing Meraki network.

It runs 3x3 on 5 GHz and 2x2 on 2.4 GHz, for up to 1.9 Gbps combined radio rate, plus a dedicated radio that scans full-time for security threats and RF interference, and a Bluetooth Low Energy radio. It has one Gigabit Ethernet port (RJ45) and runs on 802.3at PoE+ (20 W maximum) or a 12 V DC adapter.

Cisco lists July 21, 2026 as the end of support. That ends Cisco's support and replacement, not the access point: the MR42 still claims and runs in the Meraki dashboard, and every unit we sell is tested to confirm it.
